On the Reduction of Arithmetic Operations to Signed Addition
Abstract
This work develops a conceptual and computational framework showing how elementary arithmetic operations can be expressed as structured forms of signed addition. The framework simplifies the logical basis of arithmetic computation and provides a reduction model relevant to numerical theory, algorithm design, digital arithmetic, and minimal hardware units such as addition-only ALUs.
